A few years ago, designer Alan Derosier and a few California-based tuner shop joined efforts on a car restoration project titled Legend Automobiles. The team already has a few restomods in its portfolio, and this Renault 5 Turbo hatchback should join the list soon.
You can watch the attached video for a reminder on what the stock five-door hatchback looks like. As for the restomod, it will be named ‘Turbo 3’ and preserve the original exterior styling while getting new lighting all around and new tech. The production will take place in Los-Angeles and involve plenty of manual labor. Derosier promises us to reveal the rest of the details in a few days, so stay tuned for more.
Interestingly enough, Legend Automobiles is not the only company in the Renault 5 Turbo restoration business right now: Alpine will soon be unveiling its own take on the classic, although it will be all-electric.
