Renault debuts its hatchback EV in Munich

Just as the legendary Renault 5 was preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday, the car manufacturer unveiled a conceptual successor to the iconic hatchback at the IAA Mobility show.

We have already seen the car from the outside, so let’s focus on the technical side of things instead. The car runs on CMF-BEV tech and offers an electric powertrain rated at 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW). Battery size remains unannounced, but the company did mention it would be enough for 500 km (310 miles) of driving.

It is official that the Renault 5 production car will debut in 2024 and will enjoy an Alpine makeover with a different aero kit and 215 PS (212 hp / 158 kW) under the hood.
