Renault unveils a super hatchback running on batteries

The French car manufacturer has shared the first images of an electric performance hatchback it will be bringing to the Paris Motor Show next month.

The car uses the same chassis as the Renault 5 (see video), but features its own aerodynamic boy kit and lighting, if the teasers are any indications. Among other things, it boasts massive wheel arch extensions, a large rear wing and original wheels. Bucket seats inside the cabin and a driver depicted in a racing overalls and helmet are further indications that it might be a dedicated track tool, rather than a daily driver.

The Paris Motor Show will open on October 17, 2022. Renault plans to attend the event with a passenger version of the Kangoo E-Tech Electric minivan, a couple of concepts from Alpine and Dacia, and a revived Renault 4.
