Renault only plans to start selling its revived ‘5’ model in 2024, but pre-production examples are already running around. Judging by these images posted by Motor1, the final version will share its design with its namesake from the 1970s and ‘80s and will not deviate greatly from the concept the company showed us in early 2021.
Despite the camo, one can conclude that the overall body shape is the same as the concept, with recognizable c-pillars. That said, the outlines seem to have been smoothed a bit – perhaps to keep the manufacturing costs down. The front bumper looks simplified and the side mirrors are just that – mirrors. The lighting all around appears unchanged, though. The wrap makes it hard to draw conclusions just yet.
Something can be said about the cabin, too. Renault hasn’t showed it yet, but you can discern a large dual display from certain angles.
The Renault 5 is coming to the market as a replacement for the Zoe model. It incorporates many parts already present in the company’s other cars, like the Clio. Next-gen batteries and independent suspension are rumored to be included in the main spec.
