French automaker Renault has come to the Geneva Motor Show with EZ-GO, a promising autonomous vehicle it plans to use for carpooling. The company claims it’s a car and a service at the same time – once released, the newcomer should provide serious competition for the public transport.
The Renault EZ-GO is over 5 meters large and comes equipped with a full-electric engine, a panorama roof and glass doors for unobstructed view. It will rely on an advanced self-drive technology to navigate city streets unattended at 50 km/h (31 mph) or less.
Renault believes the new EZ-GO will be the transport of choice for tourists who can always call it using a mobile app. Mass production is scheduled for 2022.
