The rumors about Volkswagen and Renault trying and failing to team up on EV production have now been officially confirmed by one of the parties involved.
Speaking in his interview with Reuters, Renault CEO Luca de Meo admitted that the talks did, indeed, take place and that they never reached a satisfactory conclusion. He lamented about it, calling it “a missed opportunity,” but emphasized that Renault was still willing to explore cooperation opportunities with other companies.
Volkswagen still hasn’t issued an official comment on the situation.
