A research team put Renault’s Arkana crossover SUV through an obstacle avoidance test and was pleased with the results.
The very first try was a complete success: the car ran the entire course at 77 km/h (47.8 miles per hour) without hitting a single road cone. The test crew praised its roll stability, suspension, reactive steering assist torque, and the electronic aids that steered the car back into the lane gently, rather than forcefully.
In the end, the Arkana became one of this year’s precious few crossovers to win the Viewers’ Choice Award for this year.
