The Indian
subsidiary of Renault has launched the 2019 facelift version of its Duster SUV
on the local market. The website of the manufacturer proudly claims the car has
received ’25 new features and tech improvements’.
Exterior
enhancements include a new radiator grille with chrome inserts, a front bumper
reinforced with a guard plate, new headlights and LED-based DRLs, and a
different-looking hood cover.
Look
inside, and you will find a new steering wheel alongside a multimedia center
that supports smartphones. There is also the new EcoGuide feature which
analyzes the driver’s behavior and assists him/her to achieve better fuel
efficiency.
By default,
the 2019 Duster facelift ships with two front airbags, an ABS system, and rear
parking sensors. Paid options include a reversing camera, electronic roll
stabilization, and hill start assist.
Customers
may choose from a gasoline engine rated at 106 hp (79 kW) and 142 Nm (105
lb-ft) of torque and two diesel engines. One of the latter comes rated at 85 hp
(71 kW) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft), while the other one pumps out 110 hp (82 kW)
and 245 Nm (180 lb-ft). All three have 1.5 liters of displacement room. The
gasoline engine may connect to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT, while
the diesel ones are limited to five- or six-speed manual.
The 2019
Renault Duster facelift begins from 799,990 rupees in India, which roughly
amounts to 11,665 USD at current rates. The top trim version costs 1,249,990
rupees, or 18,225 USD.
