Renault (also known under its Romanian sub-brand name, Dacia) has updated its compact crossover Duster for the European market. The model will now ship equipped with a turbocharged gasoline three-cylinder engine rated at 100 hp (75 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque.
The new mill has arrived as a replacement for the old 1.6-liter naturally aspirated one with 115 hp (86 kW) and 156 Nm (115 lb-ft) at its command.
According to the company, the facelifted Duster accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 12.5 seconds. It consumes 5.6 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers traveled (50 MPG in Great Britain; 42 MPG in the USA). The new engine ships exclusively with five-speed manual transmission and front wheel drive.
The Dacia Duster is available in a number of markets outside of Europe as well, but it isn’t clear whether it will get the same kind of update there or not.
