Renault customers in Japan will be able to buy the next generation of the Kangoo MPV next spring. Only certain modifications will be available, but the standard trim will include plenty of options listed as premium for European buyers.
Specifically, the Kangoo for Japan will only be available in a passenger minivan version, not commercial. Preselector DCT will be the only transmission type on offer, too. On the upside, the car will come preloaded with adaptive cruise control and other premium features.
Engine-wise, there will be a choice between a 1.3-liter petrol turbo rated at 130 PS (128 hp / 96 kW) and a 1.5-liter turbo diesel capable of 116 PS (114 hp / 86 kW). Pricing details remain to be announced.
The Renault brand has been around on the market of Japan for a while now, and the Kangoo model in particular is so beloved there that its fans gather into communities and arrange meetings dedicated to the minivan.
