Renault Kiger debuts in India

After breaking cover as a concept vehicle in November 2020, the Renault Kiger is finally coming to the market in India. Let us see what it brings to the table.

The front fascia reminds us of the Kwid and the rear end of the Captur, with LEDs used throughout and 16-inch wheels with Black Diamond finish (top trim only).

The interior also looks quite familiar to anyone acquainted with other Renault/Dacia models. There is a digital dashboard, three climate control knobs, start-stop button and an 8-inch touchscreen display. It is not clear whether the latter belongs to standard features or is restricted to higher trim levels, though.

Power comes courtesy of a 1.0-liter gasoline engine turbocharged to 100 hp (75 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. Customers can choose between five-speed manual and CVT for transmission, but the drive will stay on the front axle no matter what. Another option comes in the form of a 1.0-liter non-turbo rated at 72 hp (54 kW) and 96 Nm (71 lb-ft), obtainable with five-speed manual and semi-automatic.
