Renault Kwid flashes cabin ahead of premiere

Photos showing the facelifted exterior of the Renault Kwid for India leaked online a few days ago. Apparently, the company styled the hatchback closer to its Chinese counterpart by giving it two-tier headlights, same bumpers both front and rear, and taillights. A few hours ago, cabin shots made it to the Internet as well. The company itself hasn’t reacted on the leak yet.

Based on the photos, the new Kwid for India mimics its China sibling in terms of cabin trim as well. Compared to the pre-facelift version, it boasts a brand-new dashboard design, an infotainment system with an 8-inch display, a new steering wheel, and redesigned air blowers.

Local media report that the 2020 Renault Kwid will continue to be available with 0.8- and 1.0-liter, naturally aspirated gasoline engines rated at 54 and 68 hp (40 and 51 kW), accordingly. Transmission choices are limited to five-speed manual and Easy-R single-clutch semi-automatic (only available in the 1.0L version).

The official premiere should be days away. After its domestic debut, the model will be launched in South Africa and South American countries.
