After a long period of time during which Renault kept
its fans and journalists in suspense, at last the presentation of a novelty
from the French automaker - hatchback Megane RS of the third generation was
held. The show was held at the motor show that started in Frankfurt.
The car is equipped with a turbocharged gasoline
engine 1.8, which is already familiar to the automotive compartment Alpine
A110. This unit has a capacity of 280 hp. and gives 390 Nm of torque. The
manufacturer offers two variants of Megane RS: with a 6-step "mechanics"
or a 6-step "robot".
Information about the dynamics of the machine its
creators preferred to conceal, however, given that the previous model was
equipped with a 265- and 275-horsepower engine and exchanged the
"hundred" in six seconds, it can be confidently asserted that the new
five-door hatchback will be faster.
In the continuation of the topic, it can be noted that
the Megane RS received "thrusters" rear wheels, and the front axle
acquired a differential Torsen. However, the latter option is only available
for the more brutal version of the Cup.
If we talk about the electronic "stuffing"
of the car, it is worth mentioning the fact that the driver will be given a
choice of several control modes: Comfort, Normal, Sport, Race and Perso.
The novelty from Renault will not leave indifferent
those who lead an active life in social networks. The machine has a telemetry
recording system that allows you to record a trip to Megane RS via the
connected camera and post this data for public viewing and discussion.
The European
consumers will be able to place an order for the purchase of new products in
December, and next year a 300-strong Renault Megane RS in the Trophy version
will be on sale.
