The French carmaker has revealed its 2020 Megane range due on the Europe market this summer. Let us have a closer look at it.
On the outside, the new Megane sports LED-based headlights (now available in all trims), redesigned wheel arches and front bumper, new wheels, and slightly reshaped brake lights.
Interior novelty comes in the shape of a new climate control unit, a 9.3-inch multimedia display, and a 10.25-inch digital dashboard, which we have never seen on a Megane before. The driving aids list has also been expanded to include adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane control, blind zone monitoring, and drowsiness alert.
The refreshed Megane range will ship with 1.0 TCe and 1.3 TCe gasoline turbos ranging from 100 to 160 hp (75 – 120 kW). Alternatively, you may opt for a 1.5 BlueHDi diesel available in 95hp (71kW) and 115hp (86kW) versions. One final option is the E-Tech Hybrid, which comes based on a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine and two electric motors and delivers 160 hp (120 kW) to the wheels. Its all-electric range amounts to the industry-standard 50 kilometers (31 miles).
Among other things, the 2020 Renault Megane facelift introduces a new version called R.S. Line, coming to replace the old GT Line. Its main features include dual tailpipes, a Formula-style bumper insert, aluminum pedals, and sport seats.
