Renault has confirmed that it will bring a production car based on its Renault Megane eVision concept to the IAA Munich show coming up on September 7, 2021. The booth will showcase other eco-friendly Renault cars as well, including the Renault 5.
We have already seen the spy shots showing the new Megane, and it looked much like the eVision mentioned above. The car uses CMF-EV underpinnings of the latest Nissan Ariya.
It is official that the next-gen Megane will rely on a single electric motor rated at 217 PS (214 hp / 160 kW). A 60-kWh traction battery will grant it around 450 kilometers (280 miles) of range. The company has already produced a test batch of 30 cars and will be send them all around the world for testing.
The production will start in Douai, France this year.
