As we all know, convertibles are primarily valued for their unlimited headroom with the top removed, which allows for unlimited cargo carrying opportunities. Wait, no, that’s not it at all. Or is it?
The owner of this petite Renault Megane Cabrio must have gotten tired of showing off their car in its garage, so they decided to channel its more pragmatic qualities by transporting five large pipes in its cabin. For all we know, the pipes could as well be made of PVC, which explains why they feel so lightweight in the footage provided. The owner also did a seemingly good job securing them to the cabin, because they did not sway in turns.
Having said that, we are pretty convinced it was a bad idea. First, his timing was poor: the rain that poured in the cabin must have wreaked havoc with the sensitive trim materials there (if not electronics). Second, we are pretty sure that carrying long cargo in vehicles not explicitly approved for the purpose is illegal in Romania as well as pretty much anywhere else.
To summarize, we wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the police was looking into the incident – especially since the video has gone viral.
