Prodrive stuffs 600 horses under the hood of the Renault Megane RS

Engineers of the British racing team Prodrive have built a custom racing car model based of the Renault Megane RS hatchback series to participate in the FIA World Rallycross Championship starting in Barcelona, Spain on April 14, 2018.

Remarkably, the French cars have remained mostly unchanged on the outside but sustained a large number of under-the-hood modifications. Each Renault Megane RS racing vehicle makes intensive use of steel and carbon fiber and comes with reworked suspension, new shock absorbers, and better brakes.

The Prodrive team went as far as to equip its Renault Megane RS with a brand-new, custom-built 2.0-liter V4 turbo engine effortlessly capable of 600 horsepower.
