Renault Logan, Sandero receive their long-overdue facelift in Brazil

The second generation of the Renault Sandero hatchback and Logan sedan/saloon has gone through a long-awaited mid-generational refresh in Brazil. The two models, which share the same platform and tech, received updates in most other markets three years ago.

The 2019 Brazil facelift covers the entire model range, including the sported-up RS and the off-road-capable Stepway. On the outside, both cars now boast C-shaped daytime running lights. The regular Sandero sports new, Renault Megane-like headlights, while the Sandero Stepway gets a slightly different design with clear glass encased in a black bezel.

Inside, there is an updated infotainment system with a 7-inch touch-enabled display and smartphone support, a new steering wheel, and a reversing cam (paid option).

The 2019 Sandero and Logan both ship with a choice between a 1.0-liter engine (82 hp / 61 kW, 103 Nm / 76 lb-ft) and a stronger 1.6-liter unit (118 hp / 88 kW, 157 Nm / 116 lb-ft). Both are available in gasoline and ethanol versions. Both link to a 5-speed manual gearbox in base, but a 6-speed CVT is also available for the 1.6. The Sandero RS packs a 2.0-liter Flex engine rated at 150 hp (112 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque, available only with six-speed manual transmission.

Prices begin at 46,990 Brazilian Real (approx. 12,425 USD).
