Renault has previewed an electric SUV called Scenic E-Tech that it will be bringing to the IAA Munich expo on September 5. The automaker’s booth will feature another new model as well, known as the Grand Kangoo.
Throughout its 27 years of production across four generations, the Scenic has been a compact van, but that’s about to change. Just like the larger Espace before it, it is now a crossover SUV. We have seen it camouflaged in spy photos before (see the gallery below), but if you want a camo-free sneak peek, just check out the video showing the Scenic Vision Concept from last year.
Rumor has it that the Scenic E-Tech will run on the all-electric architecture of the Nissan Ariya and be around 4.5 meters (175 inches) long. It is expected to be available in single- and dual-motor variants with a 90-kWh traction battery in the top spec.
As for the Grand Kangoo mentioned above, it will likely be a stretched, seven-seat version of the normal Kangoo. Last but not least, Renault may bring its Rafale coupe-SUV to the show, which was revealed in mid-June this year.
