Renault Scenic wins European Car of the Year

The jury of the European Car of the Year award has used Geneva Motor Show to declare the past year’s winner: Renault Scenic. The French SUV has surpassed its six rivals in the short list, including two China-made EVs.

The jury of 22 participants awarded the Scenic with a total score of 329 points. Throughout the annual competition’s 61-year-long history, this is the 7th time that the award went to Renault.

The new BMW 5-Series landed on the second line with 308 points. The Peugeot 3008 landed third with 197 points. As such, the top three European cars of the past year are all designed in Europe with all-electric powertrain options available.

Rounding off the short list are Kia EV9, Volvo EX30, BYD Seal, and Toyota C-HR.
