An unusual vending machine has recently cropped up on a street in London, Great Britain, offering to purchase a brand-new car in the same way you would buy a soda can.
The idea behind the concept is to spare the customers the time and effort needed to visit a dedicated car dealership by providing a handy alternative.
Right now, a Renault Zoe is the only vehicle on offer, and the price is final, which means there are no trim options or other extras available with it.
Autotrader quotes a public opinion study, which found that the British most often hesitate to buy a car because the end amount is unknown. During their conversation with a sales representative, customers tend to tick more options than they had originally intended to, resulting in an unexpectedly large grand total. Online sales are a known solution to the problem, since the client sees the price change on the fly each time a new item is added to the list.
A similar sales model is currently being tested by Carvana in Las Vegas (see video).
