U.S.-based niche carmaker Rezvani will soon start selling its Hercules 6x6 pickup truck in normal and armored versions. Let’s have a look at the available details.
First cars should reach their owners later this summer and saturate the rather underrepresented “six-wheel pickup” segment of the market, which is currently represented by the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 along with its Brabus and Mansory versions, the Goliath 6x6, and the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6.
Only two teaser pics are available so far, and lifting shadows doesn’t do much except for revealing a taunting message from the designer. For his part, CEO Ferris Rezvani promises us “a fresh design and steering ease,” emphasizing that the truck is perfectly suitable for day-to-day driving. As to the availability estimations, the company says it is “almost production ready.”
Rezvani’s previous model was called the Tank (watch the video for an overview by Schmee150), and it was essentially a remade Jeep Wrangler (JL). Therefore, one could assume that the Hercules 6x6 could be a reimagined Jeep Gladiator (JT), especially since the latter shares the platform and tech with the Wrangler.
Furthermore, it appears likely that the Hercules inherits its engine options from the Tank. This includes a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 (289 hp / 216 kW, 352 Nm / 260 lb-ft), a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 (507 hp /378 kW, 583 Nm / 430 lb-ft), and a 6.2-liter V8 TT (1,000 hp / 745 kW, 1,180 Nm / 870 lb-ft). All three come with the same ZF eight-speed auto transmission.
The Jeep Gladiator packs to part-time AWD systems: Rock-Trac and Command-Trac. Rezvani only mentions that it has designed a “world-class suspension” together with FOX Racing.
The Rezvani Hercules will likely cost well above U.S. $300,000 when it ships, even more in the armor-clad Military Edition. The company already accepts pre-orders against deposits starting from $266.
