Rivian switches to producing its own maintenance vans

U.S.-based carmaker Rivian has started using its own electric commercial vans to provide on-site car services.

The Rivian Service Van is capable of carrying bulky equipment, making it well-suited to services like tire fitting. It comes loaded with assorted machinery, has modular shelves with tools and spare parts, and is equipped with power sockets.

The company hopes to have at least 200 RSV units in its fleet by the end of the year. With very few traditional service stations nationwide, Rivian has so far had to rely on its own EV fleet. It had around 100 R1T pickups running around servicing customers, but switching to specialized vans should do a great deal to streamline the process.
