EV wins this year’s Rebelle Rally, setting a precedent

The Rebelle Rally, which spans over 2,500 kilometers or 1,550 miles, has ended this weekend with an all-electric Rivian R1T pickup crossing the finish line first.

The Rebelle Rally only admits all-female crews for participation, and this year’s top prize went to Limestone Legends, Rivian’s in-house racing team. Lilly Macaruso was behind the steering wheel with Alex Anderson assisting her throughout the race.

The R1T picked for the event was the most powerful quad-motor version delivering 835 PS (824 hp / 614 kW) and 1,231 Nm (908 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels.

The silver and bronze of the race were claimed by teams driving a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and a Ford Bronco Raptor, respectively.
