With the introduction of the Black Badge Ghost, Rolls-Royce stops the production of the ultra-luxury sedan/saloon until the next generation is ready.
Not much is being revealed about this ‘farewell’ edition, aside from the obvious aesthetic changes. The body comes painted Black Diamond, and the Spirit of Ecstasy on the hood wears a Shadow Chrome finish.
The latest generation of the Rolls-Royce Ghost has been around for ten years and ships with a 6.6 V12 under the hood. Packing 570 hp (425 kW), it needs 4.9 seconds for the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint and hits its artificial speed ceiling at 250 km/h (155 mph).
The next generation is already in the works. Unlike the previous one, which had been based on the BMW 7-Series chassis, it will utilize a new proprietary design and the same engines as the Phantom and Cullinan.
