Rolls-Royce pioneers a Nanofleece-based in-car air filtration system

The Rolls-Royce Ghost will be the first to take advantage of the innovative air filtering feature called MEPS, and other models will also get it later. The manufacturer claims the tech used guarantees “the purest air possible”.

The system uses high-sensitivity sensors to detect even minuscule amounts of air pollution and activates air recirculation mode when a set threshold is reached. It takes advantage of specially designed filters containing Nanofleece fiber. The material forms an ultra-fine mesh with no more than 150 nanometers between threads.

Rolls-Royce owners will be able to activate the MEPS feature via smartphone, thus ensuring that the air in the car is top-notch clean even before they enter it.
