In February this year, Japanese tuner shop Wald International finished forking on fitting its new Wald Sports Line Black Bison Edition body kit onto the eighth-generation 2017 Rolls-Royce Phantom. Let us have a closer look, shall we?
The Phantom now has a completely different front apron complete with a built-in spoiler and large air intakes somewhat reminiscent of those of the BMW M Sport series. It also sports chrome details on the sides and a metallic mesh in the rear that echoes a similar mesh in the front.
In choosing an appropriate wheel set, Wald International ultimately settled on 24-inch WALD I13-F Forged rims with a gaudy chrome finish. Frankly speaking, we are not fond of this choice, since the rest of the car looks quite reserved – perhaps even understated. A matte-black or dual-color set would have been nicer here, perhaps.
The tuner did not mess with the standard air suspension of the vehicle, unless you count lowering it a few centimeters towards the ground by standard means.
Wrapping things up, Wald replaced the headlights, tinted the windows, painted over the logos and badges, and even painted the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament to match the rest of the body.
Overall, do you think this Rolls-Royce Phantom deserved this kind of treatment?
