This Rolls-Royce Camargue came out 42 years ago and had a custom Pininfarina body. Around 530 units was produced in total and sold starting from $150,000, making the Camargue one of the most expensive vehicles worldwide at the time. Now, the car was sold yet again for just $38,080.
Rumor has it that Pininfarina had originally intended to use this body design for Mercedes-Benz instead of Rolls-Royce, which would certainly explain the oddly sloped rear end, among other design quirks.
The original car (see video) shared its platform and 6.75-liter V8 with the Silver Shadow. A three-speed automatic transmission by General Motors drove the wheels with around 220 PS (217 hp / 162 kW).
This particular example had a rather shady background, which explains the selling price. We know that it was sold to an Italian customer, but the rest remains a mystery. The body has since been repainted and an aftermarket radio was added in the 1990s.
The current owner of the car bought it in 2013 and almost never used it, so it may require some maintenance before being drivable.
