Rolls-Royce Dawn meets Bentley Continental GTC Speed at the drag strip

The latest Carwow video matches the gorgeous Bentley Continental GTC Speed with the opulent Rolls-Royce Dawn in a drag race you will not see every day.

Neither of the luxobarges was designed for track use, but you cannot claim they are not meant to be fast: both pack 12-cylinder engines with a pair of turbochargers on top of them just for the sake of overkill.

The Continental has a W-shaped block six liters large, while the Dawn sticks to the more popular V-shaped design and benefits from 6.6 liters of displacement. The Bentley still manages to extract up to 660 PS (651 hp / 485 kW) along with 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque out of its mill. The Rolls is more careful with its power, maxing out at just 570 PS (562 hp / 419 kW) and 820 Nm (605 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is eight-speed automatic in both cases.

As impressive as the cars are, there is no discounting their weight, either, so better watch the full video – just eight minutes long this time around – and see how they compare.
