The opulent Rolls-Royce Phantom (see video) is quite exclusive as it is, but customers are free to order further personalization. The example seen here has a name – Dentelle – and is inspired by fine hand-woven lace.
The car boasts pink gold accents and a two-tone finish with hand-drawn images of leaves and berries. According to the company, the owner of the car reserved one of the two colors used for themselves only – no one else’s Rolls-Royce vehicle will be seen wearing it.
The most meaningful transformation took place in the interior. The front panel was adorned with a complex ornament applied by hand using eight different lacemaking techniques and over 160,000 individual stitches. A similar ornament consisting of around 70,000 stitches was applied to the rear seat upholstery. According to Rolls-Royce, any less than that would’ve resulted in a less detailed image, something that was clearly not an option.
Genuine pink gold details were used throughout the interior, even making it inside such mundane things like audio speaker grilles. The Spirit of Ecstasy bonnet ornament was also treated with the precious metal.
