U.S.-based tuning company Ringbrothers has come to this year’s SEMA show with a painstakingly restored and upgraded Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II. It may look almost unchanged from the outside, but wait till it slams the road with 650 horsepower.
The Project Paramount began with ordering a custom chassis from Roadster Shop to base this build upon. The company also came up with a unique suspension system for this car and new two-part control arms folding like a clam. An LT4 V8 from General Motors slotted in under the hood, producing 650 PS (640 hp / 477 kW) and 861 Nm (635 lb-ft) of torque from its 6.2 liters of displacement.
As you may know, luxury vehicles from the mid-20th century weren’t really designed to withstand such high drivetrain specifications, so Ringbrothers had to replace the transmission with a new 10-speed automatic and install Baer six-piston brake calipers at both ends. The body received a period-correct respraying in white and new 18-inch wheels looking almost like the originals.
The cabin work was largely outsourced to Sean Smith Designs and Gabe’s Custom Interior. They trimmed most surfaces with dark red leather and put modern gauges on the dashboard, as well as a trendy ‘Starry Sky’ LED array on the headliner. They have even reshaped the floor to maximize the available space.
The project took over 3,400 work-hours to complete.
