Rolls-Royce Spectre EV attracts attention with too bright of a camo wrap

Car spotters have had a bit of luck recently, spotting and photographing Rolls-Royce’s upcoming Spectre coupe running on electric power. If you can look past the marketing boilerplate camo, there are some interesting details to be seen.

Notice the multi-section headlight units with their upper parts concealed with stickers. The vertical bars in the radiator grille look inclined inwards, and it looks like there are louvers built in to close the grille completely. The taillights look like something that will change later into production.

A side view evokes associations with the Rolls-Royce Wraith, but the Spectre EV is more sharply slanted with an arched roofline in the back.

An orange cable runs from the roof rack to the interior, suggesting that the company could be testing some transmission or battery components. There are no interior shots, but far be it from us to doubt that it will be as opulent and comfortable as it gets.

The new coupe shares the dual-motor drivetrain with the BMW iX M60, which means it can briefly output 610 PS (602 hp / 450 kW) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque. It should also have around 450 kilometers (280 miles) of EPA-rated range. In normal driving mode, the output stays capped at 532 PS (525 hp / 391 kW) and 1,015 Nm (750 lb-ft).
