Car collector buys 2 Rolls-Royce Spectres to stay ahead of competition

Rolls-Royce has launched the new Spectre EV in the United States. Michael Fuchs, a famous entrepreneur, philanthropist and collector, has reacted with remarkable speed and grabbed two coupes at once to be the first, Motor1 reports.

The publication took an interview from Fuchs, who currently keeps a collection of 100+ luxury cars, including more than a dozen of Rolls-Royces. However, the Spectre is only the third electric vehicle model in his entire collection after the GMC Hummer EV and the Tesla Model S Plaid. Furthermore, he purchased one of his two Spectres merely as a ‘sample’, specifying it with a standard Tempest Grey exterior, 23-inch seven-spoke wheels and a white interior with yellow accents.

The other one is going to be another story altogether. Created right now by Rolls-Royce’s bespoke division, it is scheduled to be complete in late 2024. Fuchs is looking forward to that one, and teases that its design will be ‘outrageous’.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre debuted last year based on the company’s Architecture of Luxury platform made from aluminum and primarily designed for ICE cars. It utilizes an all-electric powertrain rated at 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque, and gets up to 520 km (323 miles) of WLTP-rated range. Prices in the USA start from $422,750.
