According to Drive referencing a recent patent application by Rolls-Royce, the British luxury automaker will be releasing a Black Badge edition of its battery-powered SUV, the Spectre. It might end up being the marque’s single most powerful vehicle ever produced.
The patent documents envision the Black Badge version with a multi-motor powertrain churning out a combined 660 PS (651 hp / 485 kW). The standard Spectre model that’s just gone on sale has 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW) at its disposal and sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.5 seconds.
There is no guarantee that the patented car will reach production in the exact form specified in the papers. If it does, however, it will be Rolls-Royce’s most powerful vehicle in history. The title is currently held by the Wraith Black Badge packing 632 PS (623 hp / 465 kW).
Other planned modifications concern the suspension and the body trim, which also becomes black.
