Panasonic has teamed up with U.S.-based automaker Trоpos Motоrs to design and build two all-electric mini-trucks united under the ‘eCUV’ brand. Let us see what they can do.
One of the two vehicles functions as a mobile refrigerator and carries eight fridge cameras fitted with advanced vacuum insulation, which allegedly enables it to preserve cold with 13 times the usual efficiency. The other one is a firefighter truck that costs one-tenth of a full-blown vehicle of its type, but still packs everything it needs to extinguish fires efficiently, its creators claim. It features the TOUGHBOOK FZ-G1 navigation system that can be used for quick communication with the fire dept.
The main selling points of both vehicles, according to Panasonic and Trоpos Motоrs, is that they can be used in ecologically clean environments where internal combustion engines are prohibited, link to the OneConnectSM cloud platform, and run hundreds of miles on their batteries.
The companies said they intended to expand the eCUV range in the near future.
