Rumor: The Grand Tour loses its star cast

Unconfirmed reports are coming in that The Grand Tour show on Amazon may soon be left without its legendary anchors – Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. According to CarBuzz, the trio has just shot the final episode and is getting ready to put a full stop in the history of the show that emerged eight years ago.

Allegedly, the management is already looking for ways to reboot the show so it doesn’t have to take it down. There has been no official comment yet, but insiders are saying that the driver trio announced their leave after returning from a trip to Zimbabwe where they filmed the final episode.

In it, Clarkson, May and Hammond embark on a trip around South Africa driving three venerable European sports cars – a Lancia Montecarlo, a Ford Capri and a Triumph Stag. We are told that the episode will premiere next year, but the specific date is unknown.

Amazon Prime launched The Grand Tour in response to Jeremy Clarkson leaving BBC’s Top Gear with a scandal. Hammond and May followed him out of solidarity. At first, the show format resembled that of Top Gear, but later evolved into a special mini-series following the hosts as they traveled to exotic and remote locations in unusual vehicles. The latest episode was filmed in Eastern Europe and released in June.
