Timelapse: Formula One’s largest racecar built from LEGO bricks

The Saudi Arabia Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) has shared a video showing the process of building the world’s largest Formula One racecar from Lego bricks. The Guinness Book record for the achievement is pending, and the project was dedicated to the Saudi Arabian F1 Gran Prix scheduled for early December 2021.

The model builders needed around 500,000 parts to complete the car, and the last one was put in place by SAMF leader, Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal. Later on, the model will be split once again and sold piece by piece, and the money thus earned directed to charity.

Ferrari set the previous record a few years ago when it revealed a racecar replica constructed from around 350,000 bricks. Of course, the new one is on another level still.

The SA Gran Prix will take place on December 3-5 and become the first Formula One race in that country, as well as the second nighttime race in this season.
