Putin’s prospective limo gets into an accident in Astrakhan

A minor but unusual car accident just happened in the Russian town of Astrakhan, where an Aurus Senat limo collided with a minibus. The car, which is advertised as ‘a Russian-made limousine worthy of a president,’ has not even been launched yet.

Judging from the video footage from the spot, the crash happened next to a bus stop and was apparently the bus driver’s fault. The hit was slight and glancing, but the driver quickly covered the car with cloth – likely to avoid drawing attention to what could be a test mule. The traffic inspectors deemed the accident ‘minor’.

The footage shows another Aurus Senat retreating from the scene, which may support the theory that the manufacturer is drive-testing the cars in Astrakhan before the launch.
