Harrison Newey, son of Red Bull Racing CTO Adrian Newey, will enter the upcoming 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race as part of the U.S. team DragonSpeed.
Harrison is joining the team’s permanent pilots Ben Hanley, Henrik Hedman and Colin Braun, the latter being the Vice Champion of IMSA 2018. The crew will man ORECA, a prototype racecar competing in the LMP2 vehicle class.
DragonSpeed proved to be Daytona’s strongest team in 2019, but the lineup has changed since then, leaving none of the former pilots in.
The official pre-race tests will begin in Florida, USA in early January, and the race itself will follow on January 25-26, 2020.
