Japanese niche car manufacturer Aspark has arrived at the Dubai Motor Show with the Owl, a hypercar armed with four electric motors and a 64-kWh battery. With 2,012 PS (2,000 hp, 1,490 kW) under the hood, it needs 1.69 seconds to zap from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph).
The track bullet is only 99 centimeters (3 ¼ feet) tall and sports video cameras in addition to the regular side mirrors. It also has a lowering middle section in the windshield and a rear wing that automatically extends at 150 km/h (93 mph) and above.
Whereas the early concept version packed 1,000 horsepower (745 kilowatts), the final production vehicle has managed to exceed this figure by a factor of two, simultaneously raising the cumulative maximum torque to 2,000 Newton-meters (1,475 pound-feet). This makes it the most powerful production car in history.
Other noteworthy features include adjustable road clearance (80…160 mm; 3.125 – 6.25 inches), ten-piston brake calipers, four selectable drive modes, and an ergonomic interior with a multimedia system, four displays, and a climate control unit. One maxed out on power, it can cover up to 450 kilometers (280 miles).
The Aspark Owl series includes 50 cars priced at €2,900,000 each.
