I Am Detailing, a shop that specializes in restoring automotive classics to peak condition, has filmed a video to show us their latest project involving a stylish Saab 900 Turbo.
The hatchback from the late 80s era underwent a thorough ice blasting that included its entire chassis, suspension, exhaust and fuel tank. Having completed the underbody, the team went on to blast the rest of the car as well, peeling off black grime and exposing glistening silvery metal.
Next on the list was paint correction, but not before a thorough pressure wash. For the correction part, the experts took measurements of paint thickness with micron precision to get an idea of how many layers would be necessary.
In the end, the detailing shop produced a car looking more than anything else like a precious museum exhibit allergic to streets. Watch the full 20-minute video for an in-depth look at the project.
