A Toppola camper designed to be installed on the old Saab 900 hatchback (see video) is on sale in the Netherlands right now. Let’s see how the company managed to fit it on the small car.
The camping module itself was originally designed for pickups, but the owner claims it suits both the five-door and the three-door variants of the Saab 900 hatchback. Removal of the tailgate is the only modification necessary for it to slot in.
Despite its compact dimensions, the camper offers a rather spacious-looking bed, a stovetop, a sink, some lighting and even a heat source. As long as you don’t go looking for a shower or WC, it is actually a surprisingly well-equipped module.
The original Toppola came out in the 1980s, but this example is reportedly still fully functional despite its age. The only caveat is that you are supposed to bring your own Saab 900: the seller doesn’t have any to offer.
