Maxus launches D60 SUV in China, confirms international release

The new Maxus D60 (brand owned by SAIC Group) has gone on sale in China, and the manufacturer says other markets will be getting it later, too.

The Maxus D60 is a seven-seat crossover SUV with fairly modern looks, which includes narrow headlights, vertical anti-fog lights, a massive front grille, and dual tailpipes.

The interior is equally well-appointed, dominated by an enormous portrait-orientation, touch-sensitive display the likes we have seen in Tesla cars. Other notable features include ergonomic seats with improved lateral support, a digital dashboard and a sports steering wheel.

The SUV ships with a 1.3-liter turbo gasoline engine rated at 139 hp (103 kW) and its 1.5-liter counterpart with 169 hp (127 kW). Both come mated to a 7-G pre-selective DSG transmission, but you can opt for a six-speed stick shift instead. All-wheel drive isn’t anywhere to be found, not even as a paid option.

The Maxus D60 begins from 93,800 Chinese Yuan (approx. 13,100 USD).
