This mid-engined Saleen S7 Competition (watch the video for a similar build) is up for grabs in the USA now with only 1,300 miles (under 2,100 km) on the odometer. The bidding has reached $440,000 with a few days still remaining.
The S7 is the first independent production car that its creator, Steve Saleen, did not base on a Ford vehicle like all other models. It sports an in-house-designed carbon-fiber body, double-wishbone suspension and stainless-steel space-frame.
A seven-liter, twin-turbo V8 under the hood hits manual transmission and LSD with 850 PS (838 hp / 625 kW). Omitting the Competition package leaves the car with 750 PS (740 hp / 552 kW), which is still enough to get it running at 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 2.8 seconds.
The example currently on sale additionally boasts a body kit including a carbon front splitter, a rear wing, and a rear diffuser. It had two owners and features an aftermarket radio in the cabin alongside a Momo steering wheel.
