RM Sotheby’s will be holding an auction starting on Wednesday, August 16 dedicated to a set of mementos that once belonged to seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher.
An anonymous Japanese fan of the legendary racing driver had spent three decades hunting for these items. The result is known as the Full Throttle Collection, and both affordable and expensive items are in the mix. The former category includes baseball caps with the driver’s autograph on them, plush toys, T-shirts and photos. Half of the inventory is racing gear – suits, sneakers, gloves and visors.
The most expensive individual bits are the helmets that Schumacher won to his tournament victories. There are at least 10 of them valued at $30,000 or more, with certain examples estimated above $60,000.
The whole assembly includes 150 items. The auction will go on until September 6, 2023.
