James Glickenhaus: SCG 004 will wipe the floor with Ford GT

James Glickenhaus, owner of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG), isn’t particularly known for his subtlety. Upon seeing the refreshed Ford GT, he made a Facebook post detailing just how much better his upcoming SCG 004 is going to be in comparison.

He started off by reminding us about the latest Baja 1000 rally raid, where the SCG Boot buggy claimed victory over the Ford Bronco R. In all fairness, the Boot ranked the second last in the overall standing – but the Bronco never made it to the finish line at all, automatically securing victory for SCG.

He proceeded to rant about the Ford pricing policies, lamenting that the new carbon body for the GT will be a U.S. $250,000 option. Despite allegedly having a more sophisticated body design, the SCG 004 offers the same option for less than a quarter of that amount – $60,000.

This actually makes a carbon-bodied SCG 004S cheaper than the regular Ford GT. Furthermore, the former packs 20 hp (15 kW) more than the latter in its base spec, and the range-topping 004CS version is 200 hp (150 kW) ahead of its rival.

Finally, he pointed out that the SCG 004 will have three seats and not two like the GT, and will emerge in sufficient unit quantity to satisfy the demand.

Wrapping up his message, James Glickenhaus reminded that the 2020 production capacity has been exceeded, and those ordering now would have to wait until 2021 for their cars to arrive.
