Will Cupra replace Audi as FC Barcelona sponsor?

After 13 years of sponsoring FC Barcelona, Audi suddenly broke off the deal with the famous Spanish football club. That said, there are indications that nothing bad has happened: VW Group might just want its other car brand, Cupra, to pick up the position.

In the meantime, though, football tamers are obligated to hand in their free Audis and wait for the situation to clear up.

Rumors say Seat, one of VW Group’s sportier brands, has almost reached an agreement with the management of the club. They say the new sponsorship agreement won’t be limited to just the free cars, either.

Why did Audi go, though? Some suppose the Ingolstadt-based carmaker didn’t like Barcelona players driving other cars to training sessions and even games. As spoiled for money as the footballers are, they often couldn’t resist the temptation of driving exotic supercars in violation of all agreements.

The monetary amount involved in the alleged Seat – FC Barcelona deal is another mystery at the time. We will keep track of this situation and report as soon as the negotiations are over.
