SEAT to bring a new Tarraco SUV to the Geneva show

The Spanish automotive brand SEAT will be coming to the Geneva International Motor show in Switzerland on March 8-18, 2018 with a new crossover SUV model named Tarraco, an insider source claims.

The vehicle, which was announced last year, is expected to compete with the Nissan X-Trail and Hyundai Santa Fe in their market segment once it hits the showrooms.

Not much is being revealed about the new SUV at the moment, except that it’s going to be based on the Ateca platform but have slightly larger overall dimensions than the latter vehicle.

Industry experts say the new off-roader by SEAT is going to get a rather wide choice of engines all of which we’ve already seen installed onto other cars of the brand. Such options as 1.4 TSI, 1.5 TSI, 2.0 TSI, and 2.0 TDI are all possible in addition to hybrid and full-electric variants.

By the way, the car has received its name from the ancient Roman colony of Tarraco, which used to be where the modern Spanish port city of Tarragona stands now.
