Dr. Matthias Rabe, Executive Vice-President for R&D at SEAT, has announced an all-new CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) the company plans to introduce to the public in 2020. The car will take advantage of its own, purpose-built chassis, and will be re-released as a hi-end Cupra model sometime after the initial market launch.
He went on to say that the appearance of the new SEAT crossover will mimic that of the 20v20 concept which debuted at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. He provided no further details except for mentioning that a hybrid variant is also in the works.
In an earlier announcement, it was revealed that SEAT was going to release its first-ever all-electric car in 2020. Rumor has it that it is going to be named SEAT Born and offer a driving range in excess of 500 km (310 mi).
