The Spanish car manufacturer Seat has published a video almost-but-not-quite showing its upcoming seven-seat Tarraco crossover. The entire car body is draped in cloth, so you can’t see much besides its approximate dimensions and contours.
The big reveal of the vehicle is expected at the nearest Paris International Motor Show, although there is still no official announcement to prove it.
The Seat Tarraco is a new crossover/SUV model which uses the Volkswagen MQB platform. The same platform is used by VW Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq, to name a few. Once it reaches the market, it is going to ship with a choice between two gasoline engines (1.4L and 2.0L) and some diesel and hybrid options as well.
The vehicle borrows its name from the oldest Roman settlement on the Iberian Peninsula. Throughout its history as a Roman province, Tarraco used to be the capital of Hispania Citerior (“Nearer Spain”), and later the capital of Hispania Tarraconensis (“Tarraco Spain”).
